The Next Generation in Language Exchange
11-09-09
CHICAGO, IL, Oct 30 – Chicago-based LingoPass! LLC announces the launch of a free revolutionary new language exchange for business professionals called Language Arbitrage. This new style of language exchange is aimed at solving common dilemmas encountered by language partners engaged in Internet-based language exchange. Language ArbitrageLanguage Arbitrage can be likened to a language barter system that returns more than you put in. When a participant contributes an hour discussion in their native or target language, they receive one week of access to all discussions held in the audio/visual classroom. When hundreds of language partners participate, each will have access hundreds of conversation lessons in exchange for their one-hour contribution. To join the language exchange program, participants complete a discussion form. As the discussion leader, each participant selects a day and time convenient for him/her to host a discussion. First, the leader finds something to discuss – a short article or video. Using the form, the leader identifies difficult vocabulary words and develops questions to lead the discussion. Lastly, a short role-play activity is planned. The planning process takes roughly 10 minutes. When the online form is submitted, the leader receives 120 points that can be exchanged for one week of access to the language exchange. In order to attend this discussion, participants must add their discussions and reciprocate the opportunity to practice and learn. The program provides a nice supplement to any general or business English course. Language Arbitrage successfully eliminates problems related to aligning busy language partner's schedules, mismatched language pairings, language domination by one partner, and lack of preparation. According to Chris Titus, the founder of LingoPass! LLC, "We beta tested this language exchange program during the spring with great success. Most participants were professionals who joined to learn business English. We now look to replicate this on a larger scale." Business EnglishLingoPass! also announced the launch of a new online business English conversation course. The course is aimed at busy executives interested in learning from a native-speaking executive.About LingoPass!LingoPass! is a business-oriented language exchange community offering professionals the ability to learn and exchange languages.
