I think this experience has turned out been quite a failure. At first the whole idea of practicing our english with other people around the world seemed rather interesting and i'm sure it would have been interesting if not for the small fact that none of us has managed to actually have a discussion up till now. Instead of really practicing our english we end up wasting about THREE hours a week trying to figure out how this whole website chat works. I don't really see the use of continuing to do this exercise if we're not learning or practicing our english in a way to improve it.
So in conclusion I'm sorry to say that this project has been pretty useless.
Friendship discussion
Last week I had a discussion about friendship. When I signed in on saturday night there weren't much people online. Luckily i found one of my english classmates to talk to.
Besides a few problems with the microphone everything whent pretty well. We talked about us both being new in our current city in France, and about how we have adapted to this new city in terms of friends. Not suprisingly we both agreed that french people are pretty difficult when it comes to making friends, or at least those whom we have met. I particularly find this very disturbing, coming from latin america where most people are open, warm, and spontanious, finding the total contrary in french people, or at least people in this city, has been quite a shock. I have found that here it's very hard to breach the line between mere classmates and actually friends.
