Shortly after returning from a three week vacation in Italy and Greece, it was obvious that I had no desire to be back at work. I wanted to do what so many people talk about, but rarely do.  Screw work and keep traveling.

Maybe it was the thought of another SRC meeting or the same inaudible conference call by the guys at TEVA. Whatever it was, it made me want to burst out of my skin. Luckily, I was able to hold it together long enough, putting forth the standard, subdued corporate American investment management facade, one that I had come to find so insufferable. I was sitting in a meeting and seemingly out of the blue, I just blurted out, “I will be giving notice by the end of the day.”

I hadn’t quite thought this out. In fact, I hadn’t had many thoughts other than those of my experiences on the Greek isle of Hydra a month earlier. I wasn’t exactly sure where I was headed. Summertime was coming and I wanted to move overseas. First stop Greece! I decided to teach English as a way to see the culture, not just the sites.

During my certification course in Athens, I created LingoPass!, a FREE language exchange network.
